The food is fantastic, but I won't be returning! Today, I stopped in for lunch and waited for my check. The waitress dropped it off and went off to serve other customers. I left a 20% tip, signed the bill, and as I was putting my card away, the waitress came back and asked, "All set here?" I replied, "Yes, thank you." She then opened the check presenter right at my table and said she was "just double checking." After seeing that everything was signed and tipped, she declared, "We're good, we're good," and walked away, leaving me feeling embarrassed in front of everyone. I won't go back again.

The food wasn’t bad. But the service totally lacked Japanese spirit. We were puzzled why they stacked upside down chairs on the counter. It felt like they are closed or closing down. The bento box and bibimbap tasted fine. But the miso soup was a joke. We’ve never seen miso soup so plain basically just hot water with a bit miso flavor. For decades all miso soups we’ve had elsewhere had tofu and green onions. Before we finished our meal, they served the bill to us already, and came back shortly to see if we have paid. Never seen such attitude of impatience at any restaurant.

Consistently delicious and dependable. The take-out service is excellent, though the dine-in experience can be a bit slow. The ambiance is simple and cozy, but the owners make up for it with top-notch food and warm, heartfelt hospitality.
