I really love the new plant-based steak plate; I'm pleasantly surprised at how good it is. I also recommend adding avocado to it, as I wasn't too fond of the bowl—the vegetables just weren't seasoned well for my taste. Nevertheless, you definitely should try the steak plate!
The restaurant offers a variety of meat and fish dishes, as well as several vegan options. The highlight for vegans includes organic grilled tofu drizzled with teriyaki sauce, served with your choice of brown or white rice alongside steamed vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower (with an optional avocado topping). There's also a delicious loaded miso dish featuring tofu and ambalat.
This WABA Grill, shown in the photo, located off the 15 Freeway near Ontario, was amazing as you can see from the picture. However, the WABA Grill in Apple Valley on Highway 18 was the complete opposite. I would not recommend going there; the service was poor, the food was subpar, and the vegetables were overcooked.
Waba offers quite good fast Japanese food. I would compare it to a higher-quality version of Yoshinoya.
