Zeke's Eatin' Place - Ontario

Food was great, really delicious. Quickly came out of the kitchen. Our server was friendly. They give you a lot of food. Good value for the amount of high-quality food you receive.

I ate at Zeke a few years ago at a stay in the area during a movement and I was impressed by the friendly service, delicious food and large portions. I was back in town and I wanted to go back with my husband. Although the decor is a bit cheesy, it conveys the promising origin of Zeke. The story goes that Zeke was a prospect that cooked for teams of hungry miners and served large portions for hard working miners. The quality of the food has remained constant, since the last time I have visited anyway, with the same large portions and delicious taste. The large ham steak was large enough to share, perfectly grilled, tender and tasteful. The spinach and cheese omelet was enormous and full of spinach and melted cheese. Less or not, the portions are satisfying. The service was excellent with constant service without being annoying and although prices have risen here, as everywhere else, the size of the portions makes the value good. There are few restaurants that have refused to jump in this post-pandemic, high inflation, supply and workers-hortage times, but Zeke's has remained faithful to its roots and maintains their high-quality standards. If you're going here, look at the rare southwest Jackalope.

During my visit the restaurant was relatively empty, but this did not prevent the server from filling the place with its warm, hard-working, passionate energy to customers. I wish I caught her name because I will definitely be back and she would like to serve me again! I ordered my own Omelette with Hasch-Braun, Biscuits and Gravur and a coffee. Food came out so fast and was really soooo delicious, I ate too much.

I can't believe I slept on this place so long. Had a 0700 AM meeting cancel so I was in Ontario early. A former colleague recommended this place years ago and I never took his reco seriously. Silly move on my part. Simple, country style decor made me think I was in another state. Now the food. Two eggs medium, 2 sausages, 1/2 order hash browns and a biscuit with country gravy. Eggs done right, sausages were phenomenal for links, hash browns were crispy on the outside and well cooked on the inside, and those biscuits and gravy were plenty enough to enjoy and not too much to result in a nap. Flavor on the gravy was spot on too. Kinda gray in color which I prefer to those restaurants that produce a bright white concoction.
