The quintessential French restaurant offering great food with good value. The whole dining experience was superb from start to finish. The experienced staff know exactly how to manage and deliver on a very efficient level some of the best local food available. Very highly recommended. We will return Thank you team Charbonette
Ate here for lunch time following a recommendation from the owner of the Gite in which we were staying. Had two plat du jour, a menu enfant and a bottle of local white wine (the domaine was literally 5 mins walk away). The quality of food was exceptional beautifully cooked, wonderfully presented and tasted devine. On the day we ate one of the mains was veal kidneys which I wouldn't normally have ordered but thought I'd try something different and so pleased I did they were just perfect. We also had the filet of fish which again was fantastic although I don't believe as good as my kidneys. Deserts as always for us was cafe gourmand which as always in France was superb although the coffee and brownie offering was particularly sublime. The restaurant was full of locals, which is always a good sign, immaculately decorated with a choice of eating outside or in. Finally the cost for the meals was less than 20 Euro each and believe me I've paid four time that amount for much worse throughout the world. Possibly one of the best meals I've ever eaten.
We dined here at the suggestion of our hotel, Chateau des Hauts de Loire, and enjoyed an excellent meal. From the amuse bouche through the main courses of filet de bar for my husband and for me, the filet de boeuf (which was one of the finest pieces of meat I've ever eaten in France), to the dessert and fromage, this was outstanding food served with courtesy and care.
From the Amuse Bouche to the Desert..simply wonderful. Friendly , courteous and timely service. English speaking.
