Cromwell - Oostende

Eat there with a group of 18 on a company outing. Booked a week in advance. Made feel welcome by manager. Then Informed by waiters we could only choose certain parts of menu due to group size. The steak I received was good, however others not happy with pasta dishes, and one steak not cooked properly had to be returned. The staff were not at all friendly, they made us feel they were doing us a favor by serving us. Several of the dishes were served to wrong people, where waiter would insist it was correct. because the manager had disappeared for the time we were there, this may have been the signal for them not to bother) it is not a cheap restaurant but food overall was good, however seriously let down by staff attitude. One guest had his face burnt by a burning flare from a birthday dish placed in front of him badly. No effort of an apology was made even though the waiter was aware of the situation. Representing one of the largest employers in Ostend, I will not be returning and I will recommend we do not bring clients there either. It would be an embarrassment.

The food at Cromwell's is very good, and the personnel is very friendly! Great quality, fresh products and very refined cuisine. Tried the chef's menu which was very good. I would particularly recommend the St Jacques and caramelised chicory, and the Cod with mustard sauce.

Lovely restaurant in the square with a great choice of fish and wonderful service. May not be cheap but food is delicious and well portioned.

Excellent service and very hard working staff during this particularly busy and complicated period. Food was great too.

Very friendly and fast service. Quality and fresh ingredients and good to selection of beers and wines. My fish was delicious. Highly recommended!
