They were very welcoming and laughed for me over 6:00 Gin O'clock when they ran out of Gin, they bought another bottle for the next night... Customer service par excellence in my view!! The food was good inviting price, offers a choice for most taste offered at very reasonable prices. During our visits we enjoyed very good entrecote for €15, a baked camembert and cold plate (Riesenteil, would be a big common starter) for €14, very good pizzas and good old fish and chips. No ruffles, but tasty and no complaints from our Fussy 11 years old. With everything freshly cooked to order if this wasn't a fast food restaurant, but that wasn't what we were after so perfect us. We will visit the restaurant in Oradour when we return in October to enjoy their hospitality in the knowledge that we will have another good meal.
We speculated on a very quiet day in the city. They offered a la carte and fixed price menu, we went for the dish de jour, which was great value and very tasty indeed. A real French bistro and pizzeria, good... worth a visit.
Tiny town, which is uninspiring, (we were hunting house and needed food, this is a typical cafe bar, but a tasty lunch of chicken or pig with tasty sauce and chips, typical French, not what you have in a British cafe bar (burger...or Polughmans usually) a nice surprise, and a very friendly owner (who wants to go to Kent, which has a loss to this lunch community)
This little bar-restaurant is a family run business in a little village 1/2 hour from Limoges. They offer a lunch menu (starter, main, desert, coffee and wine freshly cooked every day for approximately €10 but they also make the best pizzas I have ever tasted...(go for the Camembert one!
We visit this bar every time we visit Ouradour sur vayres. The owner is lovely and tries her best to speak english and she will help you with your french too. The pizzas here are lovely would recommend the Limousen Pizza.
