Unfortunately, we did not like it. I had the chilequiles bowl with chicken, eggs and topped with green sauce. The flavor was off. Mainly due to the sauce that had a strong metallic taste (probably due to the sauce being canned). My wife had the skillet and like my meal it just lacked any flavor whatsoever. One of my kids had the sweet trio. She said the French toast was amazing but that the cinnamon pancake was ruined due to copious amounts of powder cinnamon. My other two children express the same about their plates (biscuits and gravy and breakfast burrito). With so many places to eat in Orange, this place doesn't stand out. However, the staff was super friendly, the place was clean and the service was fantastic!
Bad food ,the fries where not cook ,the bread was really cold . They make box eggs for omelette, the avocado was black
Let me start with this is my second time eating at the Broken Yolk, first time was in the one on Harbor Blvd, it was good, 30 minute wait waitress was nice food was good, husband sent back the chorizo it was salty. Now the one on Chapman was way better, no wait , our waitress was also very nice, service was excellent. I ordered the exact same thing I had at the other location (country skillet) and it was like I had a different plate it was delicious with country gravy all over it compared to a dollop on the side served at the harbor location. The husband asked for chorizo on the side and it was perfect not salty at all. I give the cooks at the Chapman location 5 stars!! Keep up the good work. We traveled from northern Cali for a baseball tournament we'll be back!!
Twice I asked about her sweet trio and had the disgust to spit it out. I assume that they do not clean their grill well enough because other aromes are mixed together. I even found a piece of cilantro under the pancake. twice I told their servers about it and they just look stupid. I didn't apologize, it didn't offer to replace it, and much less I offered everything to improve my experience. when I decide to come back, I know that I will not order the same dish as it is clear that they do not know how to cook it.
We had a great experience. Saturday at 9 o'clock, they don't wait. sat on the terrace, over head brandy with fans, so it was nice and cool in summer heat. arturo was our server. he was friendly, personal and very attentive. we ordered the 2 egg breakfast and tiki toast with added eggs and sausage (divided the tiki French toast). everything was delicious and was delivered quickly. heaping portions. word to wise though. order only the matcha green tea latte if they like their drinks super sweet. can not wait to come back and try more of the food.
