My wife, our 2-year-old daughter, and I ordered Chicken Karaahi, Fried Vegetable Rice, and Chicken Nuggets. The food was exceptionally fresh and even more delicious than we had expected. We truly enjoyed our meal. The dishes were made quickly and served sizzling hot. The restaurant is run by a lovely couple from Pakistan who put all their energy into ensuring that their customers are satisfied. They were so kind and even offered us complimentary doodhpati chai at the end of our meal, which was just like the chai we would find at a Pakistani dhaba. The staff was all very respectful and attentive, especially Shiva who served our food and checked on us multiple times to see if we needed anything. The restaurant is quite spacious, and our daughter had a great time running around. Even though I am from Long Island, I will definitely be returning to this restaurant as it has become a new favorite of mine. Thank you to the restaurant owners for their excellent service and for serving us such delicious food.
I recently visited Dera BBQ with my friends and I have to say, it is one of the top restaurants in Connecticut. The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated. Despite having a large party of 15 people, we received exceptional service. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Neelem, who treated us to a complimentary dessert of gajar halwa made with desi ghee. It was absolutely delicious. The BBQ at Dera is some of the best I have ever tasted - the meat was incredibly tender and fresh. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
The food lacked flavor and the charga (roasted whole chicken) didn't taste authentic. For genuine Pakistani cuisine, try elsewhere in NYC. The prices are high for the small portions offered. The service was terrible too. I called in an order, but when I arrived, I was told to wait an additional 15 minutes. In total, I had to wait 45 minutes. I will not be returning.
The food was expensive. We ordered samosa which was burned. Nihari was terrible and watery. We had gone on a weekend for breakfast and they said they were not serving breakfast despite me calling and checking before we left and the lady said they serve all day on weekends. Also menu online is not the menu on site. The actual menu had very few items. I will never go back unless you like wasting money.
Not impressed at all. Ordered 3 chicken dishes takeout. Small portion size. All bones with minimal meat. Everything floating in ton of grease... which had an odd taste (was it suet? . NO RICE given with orders. Much more value for money in other Indian restaurant in neighborhood.
