Woody's -b-q - Orange Lake

The owner has the worst customer service skills I've ever encountered. The food is truly terrible, and complaining would be futile because Chip couldn't care less about you or your concerns. His attitude is essentially take it or leave it. I strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs! (If I could give it a zero rating, I would.)

The new owners and management have really transformed this place. It's a fantastic spot for smoked wings and beer, especially on game days!

They serve fantastic BBQ here. Not all BBQ is created equal, and some places are definitely better than others. In Jacksonville, Woody's and Sonny's are the top contenders. While Sonny's has a better sweet sauce, I prefer the beef at Woody's; it’s more tender and juicier than what you find at Sonny's. The vibe is quite relaxed, making it a great spot for families or a casual hangout with friends. I believe they host trivia nights during the week, possibly on Tuesdays, but I've heard they might have changed that recently.

Host recognized our entry but took 4-5 minutes to get seated and then waited another 5 minutes for waitress to make it to the table and take drink orders. Once food was ordered it took over 15 minutes to get a simple barbecue plate. The toast was overdone and the okra side dish was cold. Mentioned this to waitress and was told that she was sorry. Barbecued turkey was a bit dry and the quantity was definitely lacking when compared to quantities served at other local barbecue restaurants. I was not happy with the atmosphere of the restaurant and never really felt welcome to be there. I fell the restaurant is lacking in customer service skills and quality food. Just my opinion.
