Casa Nonna New York – The Ritz-carlton, Aruba

Such an inviting restaurant. It is the only one my family and I went to twice in one trip. The food and the service is outstanding. Will definitely be back next year.

Had huge hopes for the restaurant once I heard about the homemade pasta. Ordered a beat salad and octopus appetizer and currently waiting for the ravioli. When the appetizers were placed in front of me I was taken back. Absolutely baffled, I had to dig around for the octopus only to find four small pieces. Let’s also not forget that the entirety of the dish was roasted red peppers and potatoes for $24. Potatoes weren’t even in the description. Might as well call this a potato salad. The salad wasn’t bad but not to much of a salad. To be honest the most disappointing thing was that nobody came over to ask how the meal was or the concern for sending the food back. Coming from new york this Nonnas of new york is an embarrassment.

Nonna did a good job. Everything was delicious, the service was first class and the room is lovely. Pricey but worth it.

Casa Nonna offered more than great food it was an experience! From the moment we walked in it was like we were VIP guests. Any question we asked was thoroughly explained and the pacing of the meal was perfect. Between each course was a definite deliberate pause before taking the next order which was a joy because it gave us a chance to focus on what was there and not worry about another plate coming out. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will be dining again at the very next opportunity.
