Mcdonald's - Ord

We have stopped here on our way back and forth from our cabin further north for years. Every year we decide to try it again to see if somehow it has improved. It is without a doubt the most consistently awful McDonald 's either of us have ever been to in Nebraska. Understaffed with pitifully slow service, employees who are poorly trained, an interior of the restaurant that is not clean and food quality that is really bad. A sign this year (2014) says under new management but it hsn 't gotten any better.

This McDonald's is quite disappointing. When I went through the drive-thru, I saw the manager outside smoking, while the line wrapped all the way around the building. This might just be my personal opinion, but when Misty was the manager, she genuinely cared about the customers. It seems that concern is no longer there. The owner and his son appear to have no idea how to effectively run the place or treat their employees. Honestly, if I worked at the McDonald's in Ord, I probably wouldn't care either. (This location is closing as of August 30, 2015.)

I had a long wait at the restaurant even though there were only four other customers. The staff didn't greet the patrons waiting at the register or apologize for the wait, which was quite disappointing.

This McDonald's is a solid option for a small town. Given that it's a fast food place in a rural area, I give it a few extra points. While you shouldn't expect super-fast service, at least this location is conveniently situated in an otherwise remote area. The restaurant is in decent condition—aside from the bathrooms—but overall, I'm just glad it's available as a stop on the way to northern Nebraska.
