The Reel - Orkney Islands

This is the best coffee shop in Orkney. The baking is incredible and I had the best cup of coffee on the island. The atmosphere is very nice as well.

This was one of the best local music nights I have ever experienced! The company was great, the beer was delicious, and the Orkney music was authentic.

During our week in Orkney, we had the pleasure of enjoying live music at The Reel four times. We also stopped in for coffee a few times, and my partner who is gluten-free was delighted to find gluten-free paninis, which were especially tasty as they were made by the twin mamas.

Only had a light lunch on the roll: large delicious gluten-free series it is nice when people make that extra effort

It's hard to single a place out in Kirkwall as they're all so brilliant, but I had a particularly lovely experience here. I had lost a pendant in the area sometime on Wednesday during my travels, and thought I would never see it again. On a chance visit we went in for Lunch and sampled the delectable paninis on offer. Taking the chance I asked if perhaps someone had handed in a pendant, and the lassie at the back of the Counter brought out a wee paper bag and lo behold an honest person had picked up my amber pendant from the disabled parking spot in case someone came back and claimed it. Karma at work? The honesty truly made my holiday, wonderful atmosphere, kind folks and food like you wouldn't believe. Well Done!
