Contribuisci feedbackI drove by here tonight and saw that they have closed. Sadly, what I think was a contributing factor was that the neighborhood was being transformed into something of an entertainment area and with an influx of trendy restaurants, some of the older neighborhood restaurants would fall to the wayside. The food was never great, but it was good and if you were in the neighborhood, it was convenient. The service was always good. It is a shame to see this place gone.
In the category of cool neighborhood spots, Italian House takes the prize. Not much to write home about in terms of decor, nothing fancy, however, they make it up with warm service and good food. There are plenty of choices on the menu to please everyone in your party. If you live in the area or find yourself somewhere around this place, stop by and check it out, you will be quite satisfied.
Food was fresh and delicious. Good portion sizes, including the side salad. I had the stuffed shells and would order them again!
I looked at the reviews before stopping by here. I have to say my first impression made me nervous and I though about just leaving. I am glad I stayed though ! We arrived and as shown in the photo there were dirty plates/cups sitting on two tables. The sign said seat yourself and although only 2 table were occupied I was UNABLE to find a table that was not noticeably dirty. (crumbs/standing water). I picked the cleanest I could find and had a seat and started to wonder if I should just leave... The waitress arrived very cheerful with a smile and rag/spray to clean the table. She asked if she could get us a drink while we looked at the menus. We ordered drinks and dove into the menu. Good selection of mostly traditional Italian and great or Odd prices. I could not understand why Lasagne was LESS than Gnocchi ? We opted for the Lasagne and a Sausage sandwich. The salad was out pretty quickly and it seemed as if the caesar dressing was house made. Yummy. They garlic bread sticks also seemed housemate too ! While waiting for the food I was looking around and despite the messy tables. The place was pretty clean. This looks like an old Pizza Hut location so lots of windows and there were no cobwebs inside or out. Window ledges were clean (no dust/dead bugs). Ok so a few tables were not bussed but apparently there was only ONE waitress on staff. She did bus some of the table between taking care of customers. The food arrived and the Sausage sandwich was great. Pretty big size and definitely a value at it's price. French fries came with it that were OK. The Lasagne was good. I DO NOT like the runny style and this was NOT. Seemed again like some of this was housemaid and had a pretty good taste. Nothing to really knock your socks off but a fairly large portion of food at a super value price in a CLEAN restaurant. Was a WIN to me. The waitress was super super nice and helpful even though she was obviously alone and she did awesome handling everything on her own. Kudos to her too ! I defiantly would stop back.
I'm eating the meatball sub I ordered through Uber Eats and it's wonderful! Bread is soft, meatballs and sauce are great and it's a very plentiful size. I will definitely order from here again.
