She missed the ice in our drinks, got half of our guests' orders wrong, and even forgot some items completely. When I approached another server for assistance, hoping for a quick resolution, she promptly helped us with drinks and took care of the misunderstood orders. However, when the bill arrived, it contained the wrong food, and I discreetly left the table to inquire about it with another server, as I didn't want to alert our friends. When I spoke to her, I was shocked to find out that she was dismissive and uninterested in hearing my concerns. She insisted that the check was correct and became defensive. I was taken aback, as I had never made complaints in our previous visits. When I tried to explain that I hadn’t encountered her before, she accused me of lying and claimed that I was always complaining and looking for free meals. This server became increasingly agitated and even made me feel uncomfortable by discussing me with other staff members in front of our table. Overall, this was a truly disappointing experience at one of our once-favorite restaurants. We left feeling uneasy and disheartened.
A solid four for good service and a server that had fun. I only have the burger and a beer for compliment. The mood is very warm and welcoming. I wouldn't say it was the best or worst I had, but I would try other unique things. I just chased the simplicity of beer and burgers.
We live near this place and have never been. We drove by chance and saw that they served food. So we stayed in and it was nice. It was a nice night, so we ate outside. It seemed pretty quiet, but definitely picked up when we were done. My Hubby and I split a fish Ruben and had two beers and got the bread pudding for the desert. I am definitely thrilled to try her brunch! We'll be back and trust I'll say... This could be our new place.
The restaurant had only two tables, yet it took a long time for someone to come over to us. Our water glasses were never refilled, and our order wasn't taken in a timely manner. We waited around 40 minutes only to be told that they were out of the wine we wanted. The burger was decent, but the gnocchi was tough and unappealing. Overall, it was quite disappointing.
I’m ashamed to say I’ve lived less than a mile away for 5 years and just not tried the Aardvark. The food is delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was fun and upbeat. We came for Sunday brunch and got the hangover sandwich (pictured) and the steak n eggs (pictured) along with bottomless mimosas. First of all, there is a special place in my heart for a restaurant that knows that a mimosa is 99% champagne and 1% juice (we are rounding up here). We got the pineapple mimosa but they also had orange and cranberry as options. I will say, my steak was cooked more medium than medium well but I personally only order medium well at restaurants that aren’t known for their steaks because they usually undercook it so it’s not even worth taking a star away. The breakfast potatoes were seasoned very well. Our server made sure to keep our drinks full and show us pictures of her dogs (always a win for us). I also appreciate that they have a lot of deals on Monday’s for service workers such as Monday brunch, $2 miller lite or yeunglings and $3.50 house wines all day. Definitely recommend.
