Shearers - Ormeau Hills

This restaurant experience was one of the worst I've ever had. The menu is deceiving and overpriced! Who serves bangers and mash without gravy? When I asked for some, the waitress said it would cost extra. She informed me that the bangers and mash is only available as a lunch special Monday to Friday. Today is Sunday, and the only bangers and mash available is on the kids' menu, without gravy. This was not made clear when we ordered. As a local trying to support local businesses, I am extremely disappointed in the treatment we received. Shearers Arms, this is bad form. I will not be returning.

The restaurant should update its theme as modern pub-goers are not interested in seeing horse and greyhound racing on all the screens. The front betting bar should be transformed into a live music bar to create a more inviting atmosphere for both men and women to enjoy drinks and socialize without the presence of old gamblers, which brings down the overall vibe of the establishment.

After lining up to be seated we immediately ordered the drinks and lunch. Firstly our drinks were incorrect and after waiting over 50 minutes for food we asked about food and we were told that the order hadn’t been started as it had not gone through We soon after left getting a refund for food as didn’t want to wait any longer but not for the drinks!! What a joke! Went for son’s 12th birthday as a family tradition, looks like we will have to find somewhere else to go.

My husband and I have been coming to the Shearers Arm's for many years, and all our meals Have been delicious very filling and have nothing but good things to say about the staff, the are always pleasant and very accomidating

Shearer’s Arms Ormeau. Ok food on weekends but terrible during the week. . We Had salt n pepper calamari, microwaved straight from the white wings packet. . The rump steak had no seasoning whatsoever, bland as hell, totally tasteless. . Kids lasagne was probably made in-house because it had no taste at all, but it looked great. . Not even close to McCain frozen lasagne. . The salad and chips on each plate looked ok, but the taste was disgusting. . Food should taste good first and foremost, then you work on the presentation to make it look appetising. . Here the food tastes good on the weekends but during the week they serve you up this **** that looks nice. . If you can’t serve good food up all the time, you need to shut the doors. . You can’t blame this on covid-19. .
