From start to finish, the food here was truly wonderful. My friend and I shared the kabocha and walnut salad (which was a huge plate), the roasted cauliflower with vegan cream sauce (which we couldn't stop talking about), and then the African stew with variety of vegetables and soft spice (a really incredible, complex flavor profile). The interior is modest, but this puts all the more emphasis on the food and wine (there are vegan wines on the menu too). Perfect for a date, a long catch-up with a friend or a special family dinner.
I visited the restaurant twice. There weren't any vegan courses available, so I asked my parents to order non-vegetarian dishes. Even though my parents usually don't eat vegetables, the dishes all included them, and they were delicious! The chef creatively incorporates flavors of vegetables and other ingredients, not just processed meats, into the dishes. The portions are quite generous, and I was surprised by how satisfying the meals were without making me feel overly full! It was a course that truly satisfied both the palate and the stomach. I heard that the chef had previously worked at a renowned hotel, which added to the quality of the food. The restaurant aims to deliver authentic flavors, rather than just typical Japanese cuisine, and I appreciated that effort! The shop is located on the third floor of the building, which requires climbing some stairs, but I would definitely want to visit again.
For dessert, I was thrilled to finally have a good cake that was vegetarian, which made my day truly special. I was touched and almost brought to tears by it. As someone who enjoys pairing drinks with meals, I requested a pairing course and was pleasantly surprised to discover that all of the drinks were vegan. My dining companion isn't vegetarian, which made it a bit challenging to arrange reservations for either the vegan or animal-based courses. I would love to consult with the chef more about life, and I look forward to planning lunches, anniversaries, and celebrations here in the future!
This place is great for a fine dining like experience or a business dinner with a small group. The owner offers a personalized course menu. He understand the needs of vegans very well as he has experience cooking for international guest and his wife is vegetarian. Even the wine menu and drinks have labeled vegan choices. Th food itself was delicious and you could taste the owner has a passion for catering the best food to his guests.
