The staff explained the kitchen very friendly in English. A lot of seafood menu interpreted in Osaka style. It was open kitchen, very interesting to observe the chefs (including the owner chef) that make the best dishes.
Visited on Thursday 8PM without reservation and had Bamboo course. There were few free places. The busty kitchen has been fully opened to keep all crews safe. I can't say I'm a luxury picker, but there is no doubt that every dish has its own pest and cooked with full care. Overall, I felt happy to choose ASAI. It was a pretty experience, I was happy with dinner. Will definitely visit again if I had a chance.
This is my happy place in Osaka. Carefully prepared food, phenomenal service. The staff really takes care of you. I sometimes get the courses, love love the maguro, tempura, lotus root dumpling and scallops. Don't be afraid to ask for recommendations even if your Japanese is embarrassingly basic like mine. Have Dassai sake with fish, if you can. Sit at the counter, order a yuzu liqueur with soda and watch the well-oiled machine at work.
Beautiful food (yes, it was beautiful to look at), even better tasting. It was a pleasure to also watch these works of art being prepared in front of you in Kappou cuisine manner.
It was slightly hard to find and not cheap but oh my, oh my, the food was good! We ordered a set menu on recommendation and both the service and the dishes were truly exceptional. Highly recommended!
