Prime Rib & NY Steak done to perfection. The solarium is beautiful & very comfortable. Our service was great, very welcoming & friendly.Would we return? In a New York minute, I would double up on the apps, (no sharing!) they were that good, a nice bottle of vino from their great wine list & we are good to go.Thank you Harpo's for a wonderful & relatively inexpensive dinner with excellent service.Sue
Harp"s restaurant is a good to eat in Oshawa my family and friend gift this place a good review I will be back soon
My husband and I wanted to try something other than a chain restaurant. We're new to Oshawa and saw Harpo's sign when driving to/from Oshawa Centre. Decided to give it a try, and were pleasantly surprised. Didn't realize they only open for dinner, so when we got there, they had just opened. The first impression you get as you walk in is that the place is dated, but as you sit down and look around, you feel like you're in your family's home. Cozy, warm and clean. Our waitress (Chris) was attentive and smiling all the time. Ordered from their feature menu and were treated to the best home made meals you could ask for. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. We left there knowing that we will definitely be going back :)
Food is excellent. Service is wonderful. It is on the higher price, but you get what you pay for. It's the kind of place you go when you are two or 4 people out to celebrate a special occasion.
I went in tonight with a reservation. I was with my wife and 85 year old mother on our regular Sunday night dinner visit. On this night we decided to go somewhere a little more special. LOL. First off the building and decor is desperately in need of refurbishment. Broken outdoor lamps, uneven interlock, dirty windows, worn upholstery etc We were seated in the atrium by the neon costco "Open" sign. Nice touch. We waited 10 minutes after we were sat and were greeted by a woman in a yoga outfit who shouldn't have been wearing such an outfit let alone serving Sunday night dinner in a public establishment. They only had one menu available and it was stained badly. They had two groups in the restaurant who had all the menus and based on the service all their attention as wellWe ordered a bottle of wine and received promptly and then the server disappeared for 25 minutes. At least. The baked shrimp were served in an escargot dish and were swimming in cheese, butter and garlic. Omg. We received no service other than when we were brought something. That is, no one around to make any requests toWe all had prime rib and ordered it medium rare. I ordered the larger cut and it was literally cold in the middle. All our cuts were medium well at best versus medium rare. I sent it back and it was explained that there beef is cooked earlier in the day. Sorry this was cooked yesterday at best. It was re heated and brought back out. Now cooked well done$41.95 for this. Harpo folks.....get out of your restaurant and see what others are providing for these downtown prices. Either make a commitment to your business or get out. Terrible experience Go somewhere else. The Keg is just down the street. Also need s a Reno but at least serves a good MealVery disappointing.
