Hong Kong House Restaurant - Oshawa

Ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice and Beef Chow Mein for take-out. Excellent food. Freshly made, hot and great tasting. Shrimp fried rice not greasy, nice sized shrimps and it tasted great. Beef Chow Mein, asked for the dried noodles on the side. Excellent! Beef tendered, bean sprouts crispy and dish was very tasty. My new place to go to for excellent, not greasy and great tasting Chinese food. Much better then Golden Gate and Mandarin for take-out. Not greasy, or blah tasting. Pricing is reasonable for the quality of the food. Looking forward to leftovers for lunch.

We have been ordering from Hong Kong House for many many years. The staff are very friendly and the food is outstanding. We have recommended this restaurant to may people and will continue to do so.

We absolutely love the Hong Kong House! The food is always fantastic and the service is great! Yes, the building itself is a little run down- so be prepared for that if you are eating at the restaurant. You can't beat the lunch specials! So much food for under 6 dollars and it's always cooked perfectly and arrives hot. The lemon chicken is incredible but so are most of their dishes. I do not go anywhere else for Chinese food and would recommend this place to all!

Hong kong house is a place you want to pick up your food and just go enjoy it in the confort of your house. I buy alot of chinese food so i guess that kind of make me an expert and just waiting for your food there you can appreciate the massive flow of orders this restaurant processes so is fair to say that is a favorite in the area. Now if you decide to use the washroom(restroom) you will definitely start questioning yourself why are you ordering from this place. Washroom smells disgusting with foul urine odour. They (the owners) definitely know their money making formula is in the take out/delivery business. What again makes you think how did they get that "GREEN CERTIFICATION. THAT SAYS PASS" from the health department. I always apply a rule of thumb in places like this. " if the owners have these premises where the customer can see. Then how clean is inside those walls in the kitchen where you can't see?. As for customer i can say the same. The staff tends to be on the aggressive side again this is based on a relation of " get your food,pay for it and get the hell out of here". Obviously they know if you complain one customer out of the many they have will not make a difference. This is why I'm making this review in the most objective manner, not because i want them to fail, but hopefully they will create some conciense that the food business is not just about the food you make, but equally importantly about the people you serve this food to.

I have tried all Chinese food restaurants in Oshawa and this is my favourite by far. The chicken balls are large and full of chichen (not air like most people). Their purl fried rice is delicious. As well as their general Tao and Cantonese chow mein. I have nothing bad to say about this place at all. But I've only had delivery and never been inside the restaurant.
