Walking the neighborhood near our apartment rental, we came across this BBQ Bar, looking very much like the ones here in the USA. We were greeted by a most friendly young man with great tatoos. He was most helpful in recommending items that were his favorites as well as their most popular. I ordered the brisket and although I don't remember what everyone else ordered, all were satisfied with their choices. Everything about our experience went smoothly and there was absolutely no room for dessert, which sounded awesome (pecan pie and key lime pie_.We ate ,mostly Norwegian food while there for a week, but this was a wonderful surprise.
Food was great, well priced for the area, and the service was superb. The decor is great, with a Texas cowboy vibe, very much Americana. Worth this visit for sure.
The spare ribs and brisket were excellent. The atmosphere was charming with country music playing in the background. The service was outstanding. However, the white wine was not as enjoyable in taste.
I celebrated my birthday together with my family at the place. We had to sharing plates for the price of Nok 925, for 2 persons. My wife had a burger. I am ok with paying so much for a meal at a BBQ place but I expect very good food. The plate was presented nice and looked good. It had chicken, pulled pork, sausage, brisket, ribs, and sides on it. Sadly was all the meat with the exception of the sausage very dry. I thought that those sharing plates were the signature dishes of the Eldhuset but ..... My wife had a burger that she ordered medium cooked. Sadly was also the burger cooked completely through. We complained to the waiter, the service was ok, and he apologized and offered coffee and dessert that we accepted. Experiences with poor food like that combined with very high prices are a big problem in Oslo and Norway and will prevent people from going out and eat.
HUGE portions. Friendly staff. Selection of ciders. What more could you ask for?! The burger was particularly good (and massive) and the onion rings were a dream. Will definitely be back!
