A group of friends and I visited here after reading about their great reviews as we wanted to try some traditional Norwegian food while on holiday! It is a really great vintage restaurant in Oslo serving traditional, homestyle Norwegian cuisine. There is a very local feel to the place and the style and decor of the place is as original as the day they opened! The staff are friendly, they spoke good English and they were helpful with recommending what to order off of the menu! I got the Taste of Norway as did a few others in our group and one member got the roasted bacon. The Taste of Norway is accompanied by sauerkraut, boiled potatoes, mashed peas, brown sauce and lingonberry jam! All the food was delicious and I would recommend the roasted bacon dish over the Taste of Norway! However, the portions were perfect and I decided to treat myself and got the warm apple pie with ice cream for dessert! I highly recommend it. If you are ever in Oslo, I would definitely recommend checking this place out! Fun fact that I learned about this restaurant is that both Norwegian writers Jo Nesbø and Bjørg Vik have set a number of scenes from their books at this location. The restaurant is Jo Nesbø’s famous Harry Hole’s favorite spot!
If they are looking for authentic Norwegian foods I highly recommend this place. well kept secret, only locals know. the food was delicious, I ordered one of the Norwegian dishes. great service, fast food to come to me and the prices are very good.
Wow. What can I say about this place? the personal was the most friendly people. eating was a very reasonable price for oslo and extremely generous portion size. the rental had the most beautiful taste and was super delicate. the kartoffels were fluffy perfected. the vegetabile glands and jams were lovely. a local beer, do I have to say more? 11/10
Eating is a lot of comfort. I don't know if I had starving or what because I practically cleaned the plates. it was delicious. faster service! I tried the roasted thick sliced speckle and the taste of norweg (stained bark, chopped rented meatballs. the sauces complicated the meat well and the baked beet/potatoes were the perfect side. Yeah, I've had both of them teller for me! the waitress was friendly enough to give me a half of the roasted spekke so that no food was was was wasted. recommend them if they taste authentic Norwegian food.
