Now Open with NEW Owners, NEW Menu and NEW Hours. Great Food and Staff
We met up with friends to have a couple of drinks and a quick bite to eat. We ordered simple bar food...burgers and chicken wings. We waited over 45 minutes for two burgers /1 with fries and one with chips and 12 wings and a couple bowls of dill pickle soup. We had to ask the waitress when we would be getting our food as other patrons that came in after us had their food ahead of ours. Well, the burgers were nothing special...frozen patty...where's the beef? Talk about small...tasted old.....nothing special. The chips....broken bottom of the bag....not even a snack size portion. The waitress was rude, and had the nerve to tell us that there were several pizza orders called in ahead of our orders.Hm, I am not an executive chef, come on...you don't cook the pizza's on the grill. Lousy food....definitely will not go back. Save your money and time and head north to Alpena or south to the Mountain Restaurant. I am embarrassed for the owner.
I took some friends out for drinks and dinner, and it was quite disappointing. After we ordered our drinks and meals, we had to wait over an hour for our food to arrive. When it finally came, I couldn’t help but wonder, “Where’s the beef?” The bun was enormous, but the burger inside was barely three inches wide and overcooked. One of my friends ordered a small pizza, and it was not just dark; it was completely black on the bottom. When I called the waitress over to address the issue, she insisted that it was supposed to be that way because it was cooked in a wood-fired oven. I’ve lived in Seattle, where professional chefs make wood-fired pizzas, and I can tell you, it should not be black, not even dark brown. They offered a $5 discount for the unedible pizza, but when we asked for a replacement, they said it would take another hour. This was our second disappointing visit, and I don’t think we’ll be returning. The staff and food were both terrible.
I visited for the first time since the reopening and absolutely loved it! I went with another couple, and three of us ordered the small pizza, which was fantastic. The fourth person had a hamburger and raved about it, especially enjoying the warm chips that came with it. For appetizers, we tried the fried pickles and onion rings, both coated in a perfectly light batter—just enough for all four of us to share without getting too full before the main course. We also indulged in the Tres Leches cake, which was delicious! I can’t wait to return and try more of the amazing pizza. Great job, everyone!
