My family enjoyed all their food much, I ordered the wild boar on the other hand and was very underwhelmed by him quite tasteless and chew a bit. I was unhappy when everyone else was happy. Friendly and efficient service, ok prices. Go, but give the wild boar a mistake.
Every year I visit the village of Stockheim in front of the Rhoen, where I grew up. A trip to the Thüringer Hutte is always included. It is in the middle of the biosphere reserve Rhön, a beautiful forest area where I walk the Francis way with my cousin. It is a reflective 5 km walk through the beautiful landscape, where posters advise the life and philosophy of St. Francis of Assisi. The air is crunchy and clean even at the heights of the summer. We then reward ourselves with a delicious meal at the Berggasthof Restaurant with a hearty meal and a cyclist (1/2 beer and 1/2 lemonade or Seltzer depending on the taste). I can recommend pork roast, toilet and salad. The views are great and the service is excellent.
Meals and views in this beautiful, rustic café are incredible. It is known for smoked trout, always super! Besides, their desserts are great. Not to miss is the delicious apple strudel, along with the incredible wind bag. The owners are wonderful, friendly people, offer super service and a friendly atmosphere.
