Fresh Fish Diner Kawashima - Otaru

Morning walk to the Kawashima Seafood Restaurant in Sankaku Market. We are looking for Hairy Crab, caught in Otaru water and Scallop Sashimi. Both dishes are at the end of the season. Both seafood were very sweet, as I said. I recommend Kawashimas! Friendly staff good food.

After a short train ride from Sapporo station we arrived in Otaru, a picturesque little town famous for its seafood...and immediately after arrival we rushed to the Otaru market for a much awaited lunch with seafood! And according to a quick rule of thumb calculation, we found that the price of King Crab is about half the normal price in restaurants in Kuala Lumpur! The outcome we have chosen could guarantee that all foods will be prepared halfway, and therefore we have ordered everything we wanted!!!

Definitely five stars for quality of seafood and cheap price. Yes, it is cramped inside and not the most convenient, but it only seats about fifteen people max, and feels more intimate than the larger and busy places. We would return.

Large small market with really good prices for all sashimi. Look around all different shops before you choose your choice, we have the most amazing salmon sashimi for 500 yen. It's really good with beer.

The seafood is really top notch. First meal I had in japan so far! The crab is just super fresh and juicy!!!! Must must must.
