Contribuisci feedbackWandered in here on a cold xmas eve. Was not disappointed. Despite being the only guests here, was treated very well by Chef Nakamura. Very chill and quiet ambiance. Got to sit right in front and watch the master work his art. Ordered the 10 piece omakase and ended up adding 7 more pieces of nigiri. A simple and classic omakase lets the quality of the fresh ingredients shine. Highly recommended for those in Otaru! Bravo
[An Honest Singapore Girl Review] First, we would like to thank the Chef and the Waitress for the lovely dinner we had. This is our 6th night in Hokkaido and this probably concludes the best meal we had. Coming from Singapore, we have ate all the good food from all countries. This however is life changing. Let’s start with the atmosphere... we love the unpretentious, unassuming look of the dinner place. The music was soft, the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. The dining capacity is 8 pax maximum, so great peaceful way to start the meal and end the day. Then we come to the service. Tax free dinner and flat rate as shown on the menu. Based on this, we are already won over by the restaurant. When we entered, we were shown to our seats and offered by the waitress to put our bag on one of the seats as it was not crowded yet. Both crew were smiley and great host. We couldn’t speak a word of Japanese and they couldn’t speak English well. So we communicated using Google translate because we really know what we were eating... it gave us a sense of authenticity to the food we ordered. FOOD ABSOLUTELY 5-star service and food! No complains. We love the 11-course Chef Specials designed by the Chef. We love every ingredient and watching him slice the meat every time and mound the sushi rice. We love the final touches he adds to the sushi and the hygiene level Japanese food industry brought about. The Champion dish...? drums rolls BOTAN EBI (or known as Spot Shrimp)!!! Absolutely our favourite, both me and partner. The meat is fresh, the meat is big, the brains and intestines of the shrimp is removed and marinated with special sauce before added back on TOP of the rice with some wasabi shrimp roe. SHRIMP ROE!!! A rare delicacy!!!! Yums!!! Another dish which ties, is the Uni. However at the price point of 5000yen, I think you cannot get any better in Singapore or any parts of the world. I have attached the menu for your reference. PS. I really really really love the simplicity and layout of the menu. Very clear. Hope you guys will enjoy it as much as we did!! Cheers
The best Omakase sushi restaurant in Otaru. The ingredients was great for our dinner and the service too. The chef and his wife was very nice to us. It was raining after our dinner and they give us an accommodated, very appreciated. Will come back for sure if I were in Otaru.
For its price point, it is one of the best sushi that i've had. We ordered the Omakase (11pcs for JPY5,000). The seafood that Chef Nakamura dished out, including the very hospitable waitress made the entire experience extremely special. Definitely one of the reasons why owner-chef food establishments such as Chef Nakamura's should be supported. Perfect example of how great food, hospitality and value can be condensed into a simple 8 seat minimalist sushi restaurant. No celebrity chef prices, no egotistical wait staff to deal with, but much better food than many so called michelin starred restaurants. If you are in Otaru, definitely come for dinner. You will unlikely be disappointed.
Lovely place. I didn't expect it to be that good. We met the local who can speak Thai too and all Japanese came here every month such a nice atmosphere. I ordered 10 piece and couldn't remember when I finished it. It was so fast all bites was so yummy
