I tried this restaurant when I went by. A good choice. I had the Heydari for appetizers that was unusual as it had cheese. Fine. The main course was chicken with rice and chips with some salad. Delicious and average size components. Good service.
I checked into the Capital Plaza hotel, and had to get up early for my bus to Guatemala the next morning so just wanted something fast and close by. I stepped out the front door of the hotel and right next to it was this Turkish fast food joint. I saw one of the patrons eating something that looked interesting and asked what it was and was told it was a Turkish taco. I 'll have one of those, I said. He asked me if I wanted lamb or beef, and I chose lamb. It was delicious a big tortilla, wrapped around a generous portion of meat and fresh vegetables. One of those was enough to satisfy me. The price was nominal.
We are staying at the Holiday Inn and had gone out looking for a place to have dinner, not much in the area so came back to the hotrel. Just outside is a small, four table, turkish restaurant, how we missed it earlier I don't know. We stopped and a very friendly young waiter (he told us he was from Haiti) allowed us to check out the menu. Neither of us had ever eaten Turkish food before but thought we would give it a try (and the prices were very good). I had a beef taco (more like a wrap) and my wife had the chicken steak. Both were delicious and filling. As we were leaving, the owner gave us a sample of their hummus, it was the best I've tasted. My advise, try this place.
I loved everything about eating here. The kibis, hummus and salads were all fresh and delicious. Apart from the fact that food can be ordered to this small restaurant is directly above the street from the indoor market in Chetumal.
