The food was good, but not great. Anything requiring a sear tasted of butane from the blowtorch used. The most disappointing part of the meal was the service. While we got everything we asked for, the staff wasn't very welcoming or engaged with us or the tables around us. Overall, the experience was fine, but there are better options for the money.
This was very delicious high in price for the portions. The one turnoff was the appetizer tostada at $14. With literally only a small portion of salad, it's just 4 tortilla chips with tiny tasty greens. I almost fainted when I paid $28 for 8 pieces of chips with greens on top. Other than that, the food was good. Would go back again. Oh yea, the service was great too!
This is our favorite sushi spot if you like a twist. We made reservations and even brought our 3-week old baby in his stroller. They sat us in the patio and were very accommodating on a busy Valentine's Day evening.
Can't get over the rude host staff NOT kid friendly. If your restaurant is entirely empty, no need to ask if someone has a reservation, relegate them to the bar, or ask them to move their bag off another chair. Also, the yuzu kosho sauce on the scallop dish is terrible and should not be served. First time I've ever not liked a sushi dish. Unagi, crispy rolls were ok but can't get over the attitude. This isn't Sushi Yamamoto, you're in Long Beach, come on!
