Cold Stone Creamery - Otsego

The closers on Wednesday night (10/18) were the best. We arrived just as they were closing up shop, but they were still so friendly and accommodating. They even made our ice cream perfectly. It was the best Cold Stone I've had in a while!

The two young women working at the restaurant appeared disinterested and unfriendly. They did not greet customers or make them feel welcome. When I asked if they had a cake available, they simply replied that they did not think so, without making any effort to check. When I requested that they write on the cake, they informed me to come back the next day at 11. I would have appreciated if they had at least tried to help or offered me the frosting to write on the cake myself. Paying $40 for a cake without any writing and receiving poor customer service felt like a mockery to me.

I arrived at 6pm with my family for some dessert, but unfortunately the restaurant was closed. The lights were off, there was no sign, and it seemed as though they had only posted temporary hours with no further information.

We stopped in there today, Mother's Day. They were very busy but the line didn't take too long. The service and ice cream was excellent. They were all friendly and we had Kadie B, who was excellent! She paid attention to details. We'll definitely go back again.

This ice cream spot is an Otsego hometown favorite that I’ve been going to for years! I guess you can call me “a regular”. While my favorite is the raspberry sorbet (I love it so much that I buy a quart to take home), I’ve also picked up a handful of birthday cakes here and they never disappoint (but DO get devoured quickly). The staff are always friendly and efficient. They have a sitting area inside and when the weather is nice, I love to eat outside and either before or after- I enjoy the Mississippi River walking path steps away. Highly recommend!
