Contribuisci feedbackA friend shaved recently about aahar and said that it was the best Indian food she had in ottawa. she is not often wrong with these things, but this was a crazy spectacular miss that cost to lunch. we start with these suppen: a dal. and a mushroom. the dal was good, but very mild and thought this could be a good option for hospital patients as they had to spend time for excavation for the taste. this was even more true of the mushroom soup that had, I guess a mushroom chopped to brunoise size pieces served in a bath of warm cream. that was it. that was all. never had a suppe like her and don't want it again. the bark-ssamosas were beautifully spiced like the vegetarians (only potatoes and tweezers, nothing else), but drips with shameful amounts of old tasting oil. fortunately the butter chicken was a credible version that was really rich with pleasant tastes, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I had eaten a sose that had been commercially produced for the industry and then the cungal sorbents used to eat something that I had been contacting with but the only worst food experience in many a year must be the sweetmanchurian. a strongly gelineous (seal strength) saucy mess of chopped veg with what I suspect was a vegetarian version of “meat balls”. they seem to have been deep-fried, but after the puncture found a pasty, under boiled and almost raw, center that I spit out. was that chicken meal perhaps? lupin flour? the bits of the sinful plant remains did not help a bit. what a ugly shock. it was really bad and I know that I will tell this story for years to come.
We have pre-ordered a meal to serve eight, and it was ready for picking up at the agreed time and price. Generally everyone was served at home with the food for our first experience with this place. the portions were not excessively generous, but this is a frequent complaining with Indian restaurants that I tried in the Ottawa area. only the wobbles bhaji was a frequent complaining at our table [too greasy and fragmented] but the butter chicken and beef curries got high marks, also from our grandchildren who are creepy about Indian goodies. the price was a bit high, but Indian food, generally no cheap meal anywhere in my experience. So, they'll try if they don't. we go back and try the buffet now that this devastated pandemic finally seems to disappear.
Like all restaurants in ottawa they had to adapt to the “New Normale” of the world. we have read about their fights in the time when they were closed by a crime event close by. while we enjoy Indian eating, we decide to expel their take. what was ordered was for starter shrimp pakores, for the main butter chicken, shrimp tandoori, biryani rice and natural nan bread. the order was carried out on the line and was ready to pick up at the ordered time. in a few words absolutely tasty and the best butter huh that I had since we visited little india in singapur. I would highly recommend this restaurant to take away and look forward to the day when we can immerse as I am sure that the quality is exceeded only by the service.
Great food and very friendly service. we get from here because COVID restrictions on eating at the moment, but the family loves eating and we get always great service.
My wife and I had dinner here with friends. We ordered an appetizer of chicken kebabs, Tandoori chicken, vegetable biryani, butter chicken, aloo gobi and naan bread. Everything was freshly made and the food was delicious. Portions are generous enough for leftovers. Prices are reasonable...and would highly recommend.
