Cafe Indochine - Ottawa

I always enjoyed the food and the café viennois when I go there. Waitresses give good service. Owner? Or the one man dressed like the owner who came at the door only because we fetched for him downstairs. Not so much. Yesterday (the 5 July 2016,) around 6 PM, restaurant was empty, and he turned my husband and I around for just wanting to start with the coffee I like so much. Unbelievable (considering that his restaurant was EMPTY) and quite disappointing, since I've enjoyed the food so much in the past. Ah well. One is not going back where not wanted.

First time back since 2007 or so and it's still good. Not expensive either. We both had vegetarian options. The coconut curry tofu was very good.

During a short stay in Ottawa we chose 'Cafe Indochine' on TripAdvisor recommendations, and enjoyed a very pleasant dinner, excellent service, and quiet atmosphere.

I love the tamarind soup here and the lunch specials. They use fresh mint and basil. My friend is vegan and they always accommodate her.

Fresh and flavorful traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Always a pleasant experience; friendly and relaxed service, calm atmosphere, delicious dishes.
