Wished the bread was served warm, would’ve been nice. The restaurant itself was very beautiful and the waitress/service was great.Probably won’t be coming back… really wanted to love it :
It’s no wonder that you pretty much need to book a reservation to eat at Cantina Gia the food is just that good! The lamb ragu was perfectly tender and well seasoned, and the pappardelle was divine. The Gigi was ok, but I didn’t get as much rosemary flavour as I would’ve liked. Don’t expect to hangout here for long after you’ve finished eating there’s most likely another reservation following yours! The food was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, and it was a good experience overall!
The food was great. We tried the lamb ragu and the cacio e pepe. Both were delicious and the portions were very generous. The lamb in the ragu was tender and flavourful. We also ordered the calamari as a starter. The seasoning and the breading was great. It went really well with the dipping sauce. Only complaint is that the calamari itself was a bit chewy. The only complaint I have is the seating. As a party of 2, we were only offered counter or bar seating when making reservations. It made for a bit of an awkward dinner as there was not much space to sit comfortably or properly enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant.
The service was lacking and our food was very disappointing. Lacking flavour, and pasta was too al dente. Disappointing evening, we were very excited to try this restaurant! Tiramisu and Affogato were good.
The foccacia and arancini were good. However, our main courses weren't salty enough and were lacking of flavour (spaghetti with meat balls and ´plat du jour' beet and goat cheese pasta). We enjoyed our experience but are not planning to go back.
