Well, the whole group were totally pleased with their selections taken from a choice of 4 main courses, Fresh fish (Haddock today), Spanish paella, Chicken under a brick, and Braised lamb shank. This applied to the Spanish Gaspacho soup or Mixed greens salad opener and to the extremely pleasing Old fashioned Butterscotch Pudding dessert. So much so that everyone had nothing but superlatives describing their rating of the restaurant - ones that ranged from a low 5 out of 5 to highs of 10 an 11 out of 5!!!Wednesday diners were also able to enjoy a lovely selection of $20 wine specials to accompany their meals. Totally enjoyed by all! Enjoyed in a nice leisurely fashion the Clarkstown Kitchen & Bar has to rank amongst the top 3 in my book (from the hundreds of restaurants I've eaten at)!Do go there and allow a couple of hours to enjoy the dining experience.
I really enjoy coming to this restaurant! The food is always soooo tasty and delicious. Their new lunch menu (table d'hôte) is an added feature that is sure to please many customers. The service is prompt and very efficient without feeling that you are being rushed. Stop in...I assure you, you will be pleasantly surprised. Congratulations to all the staff...keep up the good work.
Just returned from a dinner party of 20...Everything was done perfectly...amazing appetizers.....great paella......best calamari I've ever had. Service was wonderful!
This restaurant is located in what is known as the New Edinburgh area of Ottawa.Located in a house in what was situated in what was the old Clarkstown.A pleasingly appointed decor of dark wood and warm lighting. With a new patio being constructed at the time of our visit. It is the food that makes this establishment spectacular. Though not promoted as such it has a leaning to Spanish cuisine, with Tapas, Paella and assorted sausages on the menu.I had octopus as my appetizer I have had it many times but this was the best ever. On scale 10 it blew over the top. I followed this with Spanish paella, which did not disappoint. My wife had the salmon special which she says was delightful. Our first visit (not our last) was a Wednesday which they call wine Wednesday.
I have wanting to try Clarkstown since it opened and finally made my way there this past weekend. My friend and I were torn between this place and another restaurant nearby. We are glad that we picked Clarkstown.Started off with the yucca fries and potato/leek soup with ox tongue. The fries were to die for!! The soup was very tasty and great start to my meal. The main courses was the haddock with a Panko crust, smoked potatoes, green beans and the chorizo sausage with beans/bacon. The sausage was so flavourful!!! For dessert butterscotch pudding and coconut chocolate cheesecake both served with a whipped cream. The whipped cream should be a dessert itself, this stuff is outrageous and amazing!!!Try. This. Place.
