Flipper's Seafood - Ottawa

Great menu specials, super attentive server, and a window seat! I had walnut crusted salmon which was moist and flavourful. But the sweet potato fries were the very best I have ever had, crisp not mushy and hot, not greasy. A respectable wine list, and a nice tart with pecans and chocolate for dessert. Go here, you will not be disappointed.

First time here we will return. The food was prepared simply and perfectly cooked. Couldn't ask for anything more than that. Nice that they didn't try to push dessert. Loved the wine list nice choice of reds and wines and everything around the same price. This shows care in their selection of wines. The service was as good as it should be not overbearing and there when you needed someone. We showed up on a busy Friday and they graciously accommodated us, even with our service dog. Restaurants like Flipper do it right. They deserve your patronage. I hope they're still here the next time we're in Ottawa.

We been going for years, love the food, atmosphere and amazing staff. Their calamari is a great way to start with anything on the menu being a delicious choice.

It was a wonderful lunch. We were in Ottawa looking at places for our son to live while attending Carleton. He is going into first year and we do not know Ottawa. We were looking in the Glebe and ended up on Bank Street. The signage for Flipper's caught our eye and we thought we would try it out. What a fantastic find! I had the Curried Thai Shrimp and it was so flavourful that I used a piece of bread to eat the last of the sauce. My husband and son had the fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked and the rest of their meals were perfect too. Even the olives in oil and the bread that was brought to our table as a complimentary appetizer was tasty. I would highly recommend going there for anyone that likes seafood. There are even non-seafood options for anyone else. We definitely will be back. There are steep stairs off of Bank as it is on the second floor, but there is also an elevator available for anyone who cannot manage the stairs. Worth a trip!

Flippers is one of the finest restaurants in Ottawa. Food is always amazing and the service is welcoming, professional and friendly. My favourites are Blackened Swordfish, when available, and the Surf and Turf. Dress is casual and you can always stop in at the bar.
