We were a family group of 12 years 10-80. Our table was nicely placed, service was friendly, attentive and not intrusive. Everyone was happy with his meal, cocktails and prices were reasonable. People came and went to Takeout, but we were the only people in there to hear each other. They didn't play music that helped. I had oxtail, which was delicious in a rich engraving, and the pineapple coconut cheesecake was very nice, not excessively sweet, and a hint of ginger.
While waiting for my mother for her dentist appointment, I decided to try the food in Lil Negril... I had the seafood salad, ingredients were fresh, the fish boiled wonderfully and the salad dressing was a great addition to the salad... Will go again, I... you know, my husband wants to try one of the jerk chicken items!
I'm out of town and wanted Jamaican curry goats. I found this restaurant and drove 20 minutes from our hotel. The dining room was closed and the woman who greeted us was not very friendly at all. It was like our presence was an inconvenience for her. I ignored and ordered Curry goats that came with Gungu heirsen or what she ordered Kongo heirsen and my husband also served curry chicken with the same type of rice. There was no way to get white rice that I thought quite strange, unless it was pre-ordered. I also ordered the stamp and the Go/Saltfish fritte. What a disappointment!! The stamp and go was only seasonal flour that was fried, there was not even a hint of salt fish. The curry tile lacked taste and had a few onions that were cooked easily. The curry chicken was rather a catastrophe, as it was pre-cooked chicken breast, which was slit and stirred into a coconut curry sauce. That was absolutely no Jamaican court. As a Jamaican familiar with authentic Jamaican food, this restaurant is very little. If you are looking for good Jamaican food, this restaurant is not the place to go. That was a waste of time and money.
We had our first meal at this cozy Jamaican restaurant and we were not disappointed. The service was prompt, the food delicious, and the atmosphere friendly. Would definitely return. My wife had the jerk chicken and I had the ackee.
