Excellent customer service and great food! Was a small mix up with the order and they made up for it with 2 free items. Will definitely order from here again.

To be frank, the litany of negative reviews for No. 1 completely shock me. While living in  the neighbourhood for two years No. 1 was a takeout staple, providing countless meals to me and my friends on an almost monthly basis. To my mind No. 1 is the best North-American style Chinese take-out in the city--for a great price to boot.<br/ I invariably order take-out, not delivery, and my service is always friendly and on-time. Perhaps this is the way to go, here, as other reviewers seem to have had bad experiences with delivery!<br/ <br/ The Szechuan dishes are a perennial favourite, especially the Crispy Beef and Szechuan Chicken. Egg rolls, fried noodles, and moo-shu pancakes were always top-notch. The No.1 special shrimp is a fun treat, too: shrimp cooked with sweet and tangy pad-thai sauce over a bed of crunchy noodles.<br/ <br/ Seriously, No. 1 provides flavorful, greasy, take-out food made by a chef who knows his way around the kitchen at an excellent price. In dozens of meals here I never had a bad one. If you're in the neighbourhood, do yourself a favour and pick up some take-out next time you don't feel like cooking and crave comfort food.

I like the food, but it is never ready when I go to pick it up. The food is good, and this keeps me re-ordering, but I typically have to wait 25 minutes past the time when I am told the food will be ready. I think they don't start cooking the food until one arrives to pick up and has paid. Today, we waited about close to one hour. Not sure what to say about this.

Excellent take away! Tried here when our regular place was closed, and it was way better than we expected. It was even better than our regular spot!Veggies were fresh, the battered items were great thin and crispy, and we were all fighting over the Cantonese sweet and sour pork. Portions were generous. Will definitely be ordering from here again!
