Pretty sure it was the gravy. Tried burgers. First time it was ok - yesterday they were HORRIBLE. Entire 1/2" slice of onion on the burger - not rings - the entire slice of onion. The burger was all mushy - we ordered chocolate and strawberry milk shakes - was like drinking slightly flavoured milk - all liquid. This cost us $30.00 - won't be going back!
I haven't yet eaten here, but you should be aware that it's not in Westboro in Ottawa, but in Ashton, a community about 45 minutes southwest of Ottawa. Be careful!
Wanted to try it. Never found it? Phoned and got a weird answer. Is it in business? Looked for 20 minutes????
We pass by Pat's regularly and sometimes have to restrain ourselves from stopping too often! The kids always want to get ice cream and sit in the shade near the chip stand just to soak up some quiet country atmosphere over a good lick. I know for a fact, that outside of Quebec, this is one of the primo spots in Eastern Ontario for a decent box of French fries. I can't write this review without my mouth watering from the memory of those hot, golden and perfectly cooked fries. My husband likes to enjoy a juicy burger or sausage also as well as a veggie burger!
I had been craving "chip stand fries" and I was definitely NOT disappointed!! They were absolutely perfect and a good amount for the price.... YUMMY! We also ordered a fried zucchini but that was disappointing.... they were delicious but there were only six pieces for $3.50... and they were six SMALL pieces...There were several picnic tables, and some other outdoor seating in a lovely garden environment, and we will definitely go back again and try a burger, now that we have found this little gem of a place...
