Popeye's Luisana Kitchen - Ottawa

First time I've tried this place and very disappointed! Food is terrible the miso soup tasted nothing.

We were so excited when this little sushi shop opened just two blocks from our place.

I was told their chicken was good. But first you need to hope they haven't run out of chicken or flour or fries. Then if you do get your order there is a 50/50 chance you will get the right order. Mind you from my experience that number should be 1 in 99 chance. The three times I have gone all have been beyond BAD. First time they took everyone order with out telling anyone they ran out of flour and it would be a 45 minute wait before they could serve chicken again I demanded my money back. The second time I was served the wrong type of chicken and it was cold. The third time (which I swore would be last if they mucked things up) I was missing half my order and had to change my order as they ran out of normal chicken. All three times I tried calling to complain but they don't pick up the phone or have a mailbox to leave messages. I have left email with their head office over the poor service but they have given a questionnaire nothing more. When I emailed again as a followed they responded they needed more time to investigate, that was 3 months ago. Never again will I go and this is not an isolated incident as their reputation for poor service is something of a legend in Ottawa

As an alternative to burgers, my wife (the boss) sends me out to pick-up chicken on a weekly basis. At Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen, it is so tasty, not greasy and a decent portions in comparison to their competitions! Her orders is for me to get between 11 to 15 pieces and the option to me, is either buy only the pieces of chicken or one of the meals. Whatever is the best deal at this fast expanding chain of restaurants! I am so sick of going into other chicken places and getting an overly proportional amount of thighs, drumsticks and wings instead of the expected breasts and backs! More often than not, the pieces are small and "scrawny". Here I have found nice sizeable crispy regular or spicy pieces, depending on my choice! Twice over the past 9 days, we bought the "Summer Picnic" special which fed our family of 4 with a couple of pieces leftover! As far as the advertisement stated that the deal would serve a party of 6 persons maybe true if some of the family members are children. The 2 large orders of fries, 6 (tea) biscuits, 4 personal size apple pies and a 2 litre bottle of Ginger Ale could very well appease the average party of 6. The hours are good! The restaurant is located in a large mall where there are plenty of parking! The service is great and everytime; I have been greeted with a smile and friendly service!

We've been to this Popeye's several times and never been disappointed! The chicken is fresh, crispy and delicious. Fries are crispy and very good. Staff are very friendly. If you don't like a fountain drink, it's never a problem if you ask for a juice.
