The service was terrible, waitress forgot our order and mixed it up multiple times. It was not busy as there were only two tables being served. We were there for two hours!! I will not go back again, very frustrating. The unfortunate part is that their food is very good, but service and wait times are terrible
This is a hidden gem. We were in Kanata Centrum running eraands and were planning on lunch at the brew pub. It was closed but Sushi Kanata is next door. What a find. All you can eat Sushi for $25 each tax and tip included. The Sushi is made fresh by a very talented Sushi chef. It's a chance to try things which we did. Everything was delicious and now we have some new favourite things! The place was busy on a Wednesday lunch time and the server was able to keep up. You order on a pad and the food just keeps coming. There is so much choice, not just Sushi, in fact we noticed Calamari after we were full to bursting and had no more room. We will be back. To the person who said the decor is dated, you are a twit! It is a themed restaurant, very authentic and looks like many we were in in Asia. It says quite clearly it is all you can eat and the price is on the menu. There is also an a la carte option.
We were in the area for a soccer tournament and decided to have dinner at this restaurant without realizing it was an all-you-can-eat place until we were seated. There were three of us - one adult and two 14-year-old girls. We were charged the adult price of $27.99 each, which we felt was too expensive for the quality of sushi served. The interior of the restaurant looked dated and the ordering system was old-fashioned, requiring us to use pen and paper instead of iPads. Some of our orders were also missed. The service was average and not particularly memorable. Overall, we found the restaurant to be overpriced for the experience and quality compared to other sushi restaurants.
This past weekend, my wife and I dined at Sushi Kanata. There were some +30 patrons already seated and eating over the lunchtime while we were there with a number of people coming in and out, picking up take-outs. However, the proprietor and her two servers did a fine job serving the eight or so tables of customers which include two large table holding a total of 18 diners. The food was well prepared and nicely presented! It did take a little longer to get our fried bananas (dessert); but it was worth it! We were happy that we did get every dish that we had asked for. We find that Sushi Kanata has the most consistent and best tasting sushi in anywhere between Bell's Corner to Stittsville! My suggestion is to go for the All-You-Can-Eat meal and order a little of this and a little of that; if your not familiar with fine Japanese dining!
Finding all-you-can-eat restaurants can be a challenge, but when you do, you expect to pay for the experience. The sushi we had was excellent and delicious. However, the service was lacking and prevented us from returning. It took 45 minutes to receive our Tempura Shrimp after asking multiple times. No one checked in on us to see if we needed anything else or how our meal was going. We even had to ask for water despite the restaurant not being busy. Unfortunately, the non-sushi items were not up to par.
