Contribuisci feedbackOn Saturday for lunch. Totally unpretentious “real” pub served very good food, generous portions at reasonable cost. Good selection of beer and great service. Very recommended
Lots of good draft beer on tap and lots of down home choices on the menu. Even the standard hot chicken sandwich was a good choice. Super friendly staff and excellent table service.
I first went here many years ago and recently went back. It's starting to slide. I witnessed something I had never seen before the bartender snapped a cap on a bottle to serve to a table customer who declined it as she had anticipated...his order. She went back and retrieved the cap from the garbage, snapped it back on and placed the bottle in the fridge.
A group of us stopped in for a beer. We had not been there in about 12 years. The place has never been renovated and needs a complete makeover. The decor is old and used, also a bit smelly, I guess it's the left over...smell of the cigarette smoke from years back. The crowd so so, the food on the other tables did not look all that great. We did not order food as we doubted the cleanliness of the place. Had 1 beer and left. Heard they had jam sessions on Thursday but when one my friends chatted with the bartender he explained that it's basically some or the regulars who show up and jam. There is no real structure to it. We parked on the street as there is not much parking and the parking is very small. We will not return.
Can I give this place 6 stars? Jason was friendly, helpful, even let us bring in outside food cause the kitchen was closed. And when I tried to leave and my car didn't start...he (and the patrons) tried their best to help. Talk about Newfoundland hospitality!
