The Rox - Ottawa

This cozy modern restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. They offer delicious salad bowl combinations and a chef's special dish of the day. I was impressed by their ability to incorporate surprise ingredients like pickled eggplant to create unique and tasty flavors.

I have never had a better steak than the one I had at this restaurant! Paired with sweet potato fries, it made for an incredible meal. My taste buds were dancing with joy.

We recently held an event at Phi Bistro and were extremely impressed. The venue was fantastic, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and offered a wide variety of options. They made sure to cater to our love of cheese by providing a diverse selection, and even brought in our favorite sparkling wine. I highly recommend this hidden gem! Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

There were very few people there when we arrived. We were seated by a friendly server who brought our drinks quickly. We ordered and were served slices of baguette with olive oil and pre-packaged pats of butter. My husband had the steak. He found it rather tough. He really enjoyed the very fresh green beans. I had a hamburger with mushrooms and cheese. It was good, but didn't have much taste. There were a lot of frites on my plate which I couldn't finish. Two entrees with a glass of wine, and a beer came to $75 after taxes and tip. Would I go there again? No. Perhaps if some music were playing, the ambiance would have been better.

It was Canada Day so we knew most restaurants in the market and near the Hill would be busy. I used Trip Advisor to find another nearby choice and saw the Rox. After checking the menu, we decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, it wasn't busy (we missed the crowd). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu choices are reasonable. The food service was timely with large portions and very tasty meals. Note, as it got busier, they told people the service could be delayed because they were also looking after room service orders in the hotel. Overall a very good experience.
