K J Wood Distillers - Ouray

If you like great spirits together with great conversation, this is your kind of space! My dad really enjoys his gin and I can't stand over how great the rye whiskey is. The conversations between other males and the owner were personal and very pleasant. KJ Wood Distillers is a major example of what a distillery should be.

Best bar we visited in Ouray. Sarah makes the best **** Mary's, and the spirits are made exquisite! Every time we come to visit, this will be our first stop! Did I mention Sarah doing the best blood Marys? Must try. They are beers on tap are as amazing as the mixed drinks and the atmosphere is amazing. Could spend a whole evening here or day!! Heh

We saved KJ Wood! The drinks were the best we had in Ouray and John, the owner is incredible! Very recommended stopping by the distillery.

A lovely, rustic building with the distillery on the bottom, and tasting room upstairs. They featured 4 spirits on our trip, a bourbon, a rye, a gin and a vodka. All 4 liquors were tasty, but the rye really shined for me. A very pretty young lady behind the bar mixed us a couple excellent cocktails, including an old fashioned, and took excellent care of us. We left with a bottle of each.
