However, I deducted a star for the service—after we finished, it took quite a long time for us to receive our check. Additionally, the person I spoke to on the phone stated that all lunch buffets were $12.99, including weekends, which I specifically inquired about, but when we arrived, it was $16.99 on weekends. The price for dinner on weekends is quite steep, likely due to the crab, so I would recommend visiting for lunch or a weekday dinner instead. It's a bit expensive, but definitely worth it!
I particularly liked the General's Chicken, thanks to its sauce, which wasn’t too sweet and had a nice ginger flavor with a surprising kick of heat (which I appreciate since I love spicy food and often find buffet sauces too bland). I also appreciated the fact that they offer kimchi. However, I deducted one star due to the excessive oiliness of several dishes. Additionally, I took off another star because their first health inspection after opening revealed nine health code violations. With their experience in the buffet business and a newly remodeled space, this was disappointing, especially since the person in charge seemed to need multiple explanations from the inspector regarding time and temperature guidelines. Fortunately, none of the violations pertained to the hot foods, which I primarily stick to. I probably won’t return for a while until they can show better inspection results, as buffets are already seen as high-risk venues, even without violations. Update: Since my initial review, I’ve been back several times. The quality of the food has remained relatively high, though many of the same dishes are still quite oily. The inspection reports have improved, so I’ve decided to raise my rating to 4 stars for now.
The food was absolutely amazing! There was so much to enjoy that I didn’t even have the chance to try everything. Just a heads up, the crab legs are only available on weekends!
Largest buffet I've been to... everything was fresh and tasty, crab legs, tri tip on a block, chicken on a stick, general tsao chicken and fried rice!!! Sushi, ice cream, cakes, everything you can imagine is here. They also have a full bar.
My first time visiting JOY WOK, and it was a pleasant experience. Food was good and service was good!
