Friends Family Restaurant - Owen Sound

The two of us had breakfast with 6 other friends and none of us were disappointed except that the kitchen was out of Hollandaise Sauce so no eggs benedict. Not a bad thing on anyones plate. We had a variety of items including; French toast, sausage and eggs, omelettes and bacon and eggs. Don't miss this place if you are in town.

Debated whether to give a review. However, really didn't enjoy our experience. Last Friday, we went for a late breakfast. The diner wasn't busy and our server took our order quickly. Before ordering, we asked whether the hollandaise sauce was made from scratch and were told that it was made on site. So, we ordered the eggs Benedict with well done home fries. When the breakfast arrived it was lukewarm, the eggs were almost hard boiled, the hollandaise was definitely from a package and the home fries barely browned. We indicated to the waitress that we were unhappy with the hard eggs and the home fries. She took our plates back to the kitchen, loudly informing the cook "they say the eggs are hard." This made us very uncomfortable as the other diners all looked over at us. To make things worse, the cook came to our table, announced that "the eggs come out the way they come out" and "I stuck my finger in the eggs and they had soft yolk at the bottom." We asked what she could do, and she said our order was on her and walked away. 20 minutes later we realized she meant our coffee was on her and we weren't getting any breakfast! Needless to say we won't be returning any time soon.

If you are looking for homemade breakfast potatoes, this is the place to eat! Everything is cook, not deep fried, prices are average! Peameal bacon sooo good!

Just a friendly word of advice, if you're choosing to waitress/wait on tables you should at least enjoy dealing with the public OR at the very least be able to fake it. I cant remember the last time I had such an ignorant waitress. Could you at least look at me while I give you my order? Could you smile? Could you pretend to like people? Apparently not. Get another job, perhaps in a warehouse where you can deal with cardboard boxes all day. You're of an age to know how to treat people. I would starve before I return to this place. And btw, turn the heat up! When you see a restaurant full of people eating with their coats and sweaters on, thats a clue. Wont be back and wouldn't let my friends go there either.

Went for lunch with spouse. . . $20 for lunch for both. Menu very small, but that likely why food is out very quickly. Overall the food was what was expected.
