I'm quite open minded though and eat very little meat but missing out all the dairy is a whole...other experience! A vegetable tart without buttery melt in the mouth pastry and just vegetables in a veg pastry case (where was the tomato fondu was edible but quite frankly dull. My heart sank when I saw the vegan menu I don't like tofu and then there is only vegetables/soya left to have!! I had the vegan cottage pie done with soya mince (reminiscent of student days) which was tasty but hate paying for something I can do at home! The sweet potato chips were delicious though. Other members of my party enjoyed their various curried tofu/veg and these dishes were nicely presented. As for pudding well most chose chocolate tart obviously the same pastry with molten chocolate poured in to produce a chocolate soup on the plate apparently tasty but not quite right!! The service was friendly but extremely incompetent despite the fact they knew 8 people were coming to dine off the vegan menu stuffed potatoes' were not available and they ran out of the cottage pies. The waiter had never tasted any of the dishes so couldn't advise. Despite confirming the order it came out wrong.....and he even asked if we wanted our starters before our main course....bit of training needed there....still, gave us something to laugh about!! I can't comment about the standard menu all I can say is that if you are staying at the hotel and are too tired to go out the food is fine but I'll be steering clear of vegan food in the future (just too boring)!!!
I visited this restaurant on a weekday for a business lunch, and while they had clearly undergone some renovations, we were not impressed by the food. I have been coming here for over 35 years and have seen the ups and downs of this place. I ordered the fish finger sandwich that came with chips and salad. They offered the option of brown or white bread, but the fish fingers used as filling seemed to be the cheapest available and the salad was lacking. It was simply a few green leaves thrown together without any imagination. In all fairness, my colleague's Kashmiri lamb rogan josh was decent, but could have been presented more creatively. Additionally, when we paid the bill, they accepted American Express, but I had to do separate transactions for the food and drinks. The staff was friendly, but I believe they need to improve their food quality sooner rather than later.
This Indian restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes and exceptional service. They have special offers for both special occasions and weekdays. The manager, Namit, is very accommodating and attentive.

My wife and I visited The Tree/Annora restaurant today. The food was brilliant with a great variety of dishes. You can select from the carvery (lovely roast spuds), today it was beef and pork (cracking crackling) A variety of salads. And/or salad selection of curries.. fish coconut, lamb rogon Josh, and vegetarian curries. Also chicken in white wine sauce, pork in szechuan sauce... And even pasta. With such variations and food of such quality you can't go wrong.
