The worst curry in oxford No flavour no quality Cold and unappealing Don't eat here Bought a takeaway on Wednesday night nothing at all to like about this meal
Disappointing. this was the second time we have tried the new Botley Dosa Park- and our initial impressions were confirmed. The food was average at best, served on cold plates, and the service was very poor. Half of our order was delayed by half an hour so our party of 4 did not eat together- not a great experience. It is a shame that with a nice new restaurant and apparently plenty of staff, this was not a better night out. We had had similarly poor experience both of food and service earlier, when getting a takeaway. We will not be returning.
Very excited to go for a New Year’s Eve meal at the Dosa Park in Botley. Walked through the doors and was kept waiting for a significant amount of time and had to eventually go to a member of staff to be told its buffet only and could not order from the menu. The staff member then pointed to our table and told us he would be over soon to explain things. After waiting 5 minutes we had to go up to the bar to get somebody over to us to take a drinks order. (Only soft drinks available) Staff member explained about the buffet and we were then left to our own devices. We then visited the buffet to be met with empty trays and what was there was freezing cold. We stood looking at the kitchen to see if we could get someone’s attention but they were all busy and consumed with getting takeaway orders out of the door. (Orders from the menu I assume) The food was not palatable whatsoever and the standard was just poor from start to finish. It really put a dampener on what should have been the beginning of a lovely New Year’s Eve. The only shining is that we left and a few doors down found a lovely restaurant/bar called the fishtail lounge, which had fantastic attentive staff and the food looked 5 star so will look to return soon.
I stopped using this restaurant, despite its convenient location oppose the railway station, because of a couple of poor experiences some time ago. After a lunch just before Christmas, I am happy to endorse the findings of others that once again this is a great place for a meal. A dosa and a curry, plus two good lassis and fresh papadums made for an excellent meal. Prices are higher than on my last visit, but where aren't they as a result of inflation. Service was smooth, and the staff take orders on a tablet: there is technology at the checkout. One tip, until they fix the door, don't sit near it as with delivery riders coming in and out to collect orders the fact that the door doesn't close properly is both irritating and lets in cold air. I have yet to try the Botley Branch, but will do so for an evening meal sometime early in the new year. think the ambiance there is a little more up-market, but I come for the food not the surroundings at a restaurant such as Dosa Park. I will be back.
