My family and I were visiting Oxford from New Zealand and were unsure of where to go for a meal that would accommodate my dietary needs, as we have had difficulty finding good gluten-free food during our two months in the UK. We came across Pieminster, which advertised gluten-free pies, so we decided to give it a try and we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered a delicious chicken, ham, and leek pie, while my husband and our friends enjoyed variations of the Moo pie. All four of us were pleased with our choices and would consider returning if we were in the area again. I saw some comments mentioning that certain pie options were not available or that there was a wait to be served. Although some pie options were unavailable, there were still plenty of other options to choose from. The staff member who served us informed me that I would have to wait 15 minutes for my pie, which was not a problem, and when it arrived, it was hot and crispy (which can be a challenge with gluten-free pastry). I was unaware that Pieminster is a chain of stores, but if the others are as good as the one in Oxford, I would highly recommend them.
On our final day in Oxford, we decided to get a quick bite to eat without waiting. The pies were delicious, but a little expensive for the portion size. The restaurant had limited seating, so it's best to find a spot outside the store.
They should definitely get the vegan maische and some gravy!
We had both the “Kevin” Piee and the “Ghana Rama” Patty. both were great, though I found the patty a bit sharp for my tasting. my friend loved it. would definitely recommend to get the “Kevin” cake, big names as well as great taste!
We ordered the plant based “Hunny” to pot cake and it was delicious and piping hot when we got it because it was freshly baked. the texture of the protein was realistic and the aromen of the suppe were secret and complicated the flaky crust well. it is a little hard to define how normal pots are, but it is a nice tasty to have now and then. they had three plant-based cake options!
