Very greasy and in fact chewy. Ive never had chewy chips before. Really disappointed. Also the tomato ketchup is really cheap nasty stuff. For the cost of the food you would expect some decent ketchup. I really wish I had gone to mcdonalds!
Happy with the food tasted fresh and sauces were excellent chicken burger was a bit to big but never the less it went down wel .
Well worth a try only 10 for fish and chips staff were friendly will pop in again next time im in oxford
Afternoon shopping so decided for a quick bite to eat very much mistaken. Staff were awful standing chatting to their friends and ignoring customers. Finally got my food after leaving me to stand for over 15 mins yes I did time it. When it appeared was nothing more that hot McDonalds chips and was charged a premium for this mediocre food and appalling service. Would I go again very much doubt it.
I visited while on a solo business trip from the US. As an English expat, proper fish and chips are one of the things I miss the most about living in the UK. However, few chippies offer an eat-in option and those that do are not necessarily solo diner friendly. Salt n sauce on the other hand is perfect, it’s basically situated in what looks like a small mall food court inside the Westgate Center. Unlike the rest of the Center the food area is heated. The fish and chips are the real deal, good enough that I went back twice. Quality is slightly inconsistent, the first time the fish was better, the second time it was to greasy. Conversely, the second time the chips were better than the first. The only thing missing on the menu is buttered bread for a chip butty.
