However, the cobbles make it a little difficult to navigate, and it's incredibly expensive for a non-local (drinks average around £10. This being said, though, both the food and drinks are good quality and taste incredible. I can see why they're so pricey.
The atmosphere and vibe at Chequers were great, making it a favorite spot. The food and service were mostly excellent, although one person who had the brisket burger found it a bit messy and the bun got soggy. The chicken pie was delicious. The tables were a little sticky, but not dirty, just from the varnish getting wet. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience at Chequers.
This charming historic pub in a laneway maintains the original structure, with a cozy one-room layout. It offers a fantastic atmosphere and a variety of seating choices. A must-visit spot if you're in search of a pint!
Great pub and had such a nice time there. I really liked the atmosphere and the art work and selection of board games were a really nice touch. Bar staff were friendly and on top of clearing away our finished glasses and plates. Really great place to go out to!!
Old pub in the middle of Oxford. The pub grub style food was very tasty and reasonable value. The pub has a few different rooms and space outside. Sports screens every where. This is the third time here and it is a very popular pub and rightly so. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
