Very cosy classic pub with a new interesting menu made from the manager and the chef like the BBQ vegan ribs, sausages, burgers and falafels are all homemade from an award chef who was at the top 12 Christmas menu in UK! Try to believe! The Garden platter it 's the best to try all the dishes in once. Updated from previous review on 2018-04-19
I get it, it is a traditional 'real ' pub that hasn 't been 'invaded by hipsterdom ' but really this is just a bit shabby and needs a bit of an update. Dingey atmosphere, laddish and smells of stale beer. Nice to have veggie 'pub food ' in the trad (unhealthy! sense, and good to have something to complement the 'avocado sourdough brigade ' but not sure they quite pull it off unfortunately.
I go here fairly often, and there are always many vegan options, and they're all very good. It's also got a nice atmosphere, and there are some board games you can play. Also, there doesn't seem to be as much of an issue with the menu anymore (see review below). I don't think anyone would get confused. But check if there are any major rugby matches on when there are, the place is absolutely packed.
This has recently reopened with many vegan options, but: the since then is terrible. total gloopy mess and quite inedible. no texture and no taste. avoid them at all costs. updated from previous review on 2018-07-28
