The food was perfect. Our waitress, Caroline was not good, not good in listening to our order, rude when my wife asked for a spoon. Manager was great and very nice. Assured us that she would not be back at our table. I commend the manager for listening to his customer. He was very responsive.
We had a lovely lunch for three. Service was slow to start, but once we got going with our drink order, the rest was perfectly timed. Seared scallops over charred corn salad was perfectly prepared the other two diners had no complaints either. The turtle cheesecake shared three ways was delicious and just the right size.
Ordered the crab cakes for starter, the sea bass and salmon for our entrees. Both were so good but that sea bass is amazing!! Ordered the white chocolate blueberry bread pudding for dessert! All was delicious! Highly recommend!
Honestly, McEwens is one of everyone 's favorites in Oxford. We made our reservation through open table and even called ahead as we had a person on a walker who has trouble ambulating. They still sat us in the very back. The wine we ordered had to be brought from the back and chilled. They expedited it, but still a touch of an oversight from the bar manager. And, I am attributing it to the noise, but the waitress messed up my order. She brought me the same as my daughter instead of the salmon. They did offer to exchange, but it would have left my party waiting while their food went cold. All being said, it just was not a shiny experience.
